The Grade 2 programme at Kingstree Private School builds on the strong foundations developed in Grade 1, guiding learners toward greater independence, confidence, and academic proficiency. Aligned with the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) and the National Curriculum Statement, the programme balances structured learning with engaging, hands-on activities to support holistic development.

This year, Grade 2 welcomes learners aged 7–8 years, representing diverse linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds. Individual learning needs are supported through differentiated instruction, continuous assessment, and personalised guidance.

The Grade 2 programme provides a nurturing, structured, and stimulating learning environment, helping learners develop essential skills, curiosity, and confidence for success across the Foundation Phase.

  • Home Language (English):Learners are exposed to a language-rich environment through storytelling, rhymes, songs, and emergent writing activities. Most learners demonstrate progress in letter recognition, phonological awareness, and early reading skills.
