The Grade 1 programme at Kingstree Private School builds on the foundational skills developed in Grade R and marks the beginning of formal schooling. Aligned with the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS) and the National Curriculum Statement, the programme focuses on strengthening literacy, numeracy, and life skills through a balanced approach that combines structured learning with age-appropriate activities.

Our teaching approach supports holistic development, nurturing learners academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually in a safe, caring, and faith-based environment.

This year, the Grade 1 programme enrolled learners aged 6–7 years, representing diverse linguistic and socio-economic backgrounds. Individual learner needs are supported through differentiated instruction and continuous assessment.

The Grade 1 programme at Kingstree Private School provides a structured, supportive, and engaging learning environment that encourages independence, confidence, and a love for learning. Through ongoing collaboration among educators, parents, and the school community, learners are guided to develop the essential skills needed to progress through the Foundation Phase.
